Tungsten Successfully Deploys DFNS for Enhanced Digital Asset Security and Coverage

December 4, 2024

Abu Dhabi, UAE – 4th December 2024 – Tungsten Custody Solutions Ltd, a leading regulated custodian in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), proudly announces the successful deployment of Dfns, an advanced security platform designed to deliver state-of-the-art protection for digital assets.

The integration of Dfns into Tungsten’s existing infrastructure enables the secure holding of private keys within the UAE, reinforcing its position as a leader in regulated custody services while ensuring compliance with local requirements. Furthermore, this deployment enhances Tungsten’s capabilities, allowing it to support a broader range of virtual assets and deliver secure custody solutions tailored to the diverse needs of its institutional clients.

“With Dfns, we can now ensure that all private keys are securely held within the UAE, reinforcing our commitment to local security and compliance,” said Jose Aguinaga, Senior Executive Officer of Tungsten Custody Solutions Ltd. “This technology not only enhances the security of our custody infrastructure but also enables us to support a wider variety of virtual assets, further expanding the scope of our services.”

The adoption of Dfns reflects Tungsten’s commitment to leveraging innovative technologies to set new standards for secure, compliant, and scalable virtual asset custody. This strategic deployment aligns with Tungsten’s vision of delivering exceptional asset protection and regulatory assurance to institutional clients globally.

“We are honored to have been chosen by a leading custodian in the UAE,” said Clarisse Hagège, CEO of Dfns. “This partnership represents a joint effort by Tungsten and Dfns to fully comply with and adapt to VARA and FSRA regulations. Deploying keys on-premises in UAE-based data centers was a challenging task, but it has strengthened digital asset security and sovereignty for Tungsten Custody and its clients.”

Tungsten now has access to the full capabilities of the Dfns wallet infrastructure, which includes over 100 integrations with exchanges, staking providers, and disaster recovery solutions. This gives Tungsten the flexibility to connect with additional banking systems like Temenos. Additionally, Dfns supports Bitcoin’s Taproot upgrade, featuring Schnorr signatures, allowing Tungsten to explore new BTC-based sidechain or Layer 1 projects, such as Babylon’s Bitcoin staking protocol.
